for Hurst Marina’s 2012 AquaPalooza event on Saturday, August 11 and Sunday,
August 12 in Gananoque, Ontario. We’ll be right in the middle of the excitement
and noise of the 1000 Island Poker Run from Kingston to Prescott and back
again.
There are no formal events planned for
Friday August 10th, but if you find your way to Gananoque Municipal
Marina, there’s sure to be a dock party to enjoy. Saturday morning, the
Captain’s meeting is at 8:30 am on the docks, and we will depart at 9:00 am.
We’ll follow AquaPalooza Commodore, cruising out to watch powerboats from
across the continent zip by in the Poker Run.
(Monitor radio channel 06 if you are meeting us on the water.) We’ll find
a good anchorage to enjoy fun on the water for the afternoon, then cruise back
toward Gan Marina to watch the speedsters heading home to Kingston. Starting at 6:00 pm, we’ll enjoy a BYOB
outdoor BBQ and the music and comedy of the great Billy Bridger show, courtesy
of our host, Hurst Marina. Again, it’s
important to register for the event if you plan to attend, so that we
know how many people we will be feeding.
The schedule for Sunday is fairly informal.
We have a group reservation for those who wish to walk over for breakfast at
the Gananoque Inn (pay as you go). Then
we’ll once again set out to do more cruising through the beautiful bays and
passages of the 1000 Islands.
Slips have been reserved for Saturday night
under the Hurst Marina name. Please call
to make your own dock arrangements, but be sure to mention Hurst Marina to access our reserved slips. Because there are no formal events on Friday,
we have NOT reserved slips for that night, so be sure to call early if you plan
to arrive on Friday.
